Hi, I’m Yuki Iwanaga. I design and build products, from zero to one and beyond.

I work toward a world where good things are valued as they deserve. When something poor is taken for granted, it isn’t healthy, or rather, it isn’t beautiful. But a genuinely good idea changes the very standard it’s judged by. Whatever logic can establish, better logic can overturn, and above all, it’s boring. So I go by instinct first, and reason it through afterward.

As a child, I was curious about how things worked. I took apart phones and other electronics, and was often scolded for not putting them back. My father is a software engineer, so computers were around from the start. In kindergarten, I used to say I wanted to be an inventor.

Typography caught me early, too. At twelve, at the height of Flash, I started programming for the web, drawn to what interactive expression could do. Looking back, digital products were where my interest in invention and my sense of design came together. In a way, I still take things apart, but I’ve also learned to build something better from the pieces.
